Description: 2PC Metric to SAE Master Cylinder Adapter Fittings Allows a connection to the ports on the 93 Cobra MC and others such as 94/95 GT MC. Be aware they will not allow you to connect to the factory prop valve brake lines. The male side of these adapters are metric bubble flare. The female side is SAE inverted flare NOTE: you most likely need to make custom lines to connect to these adapters. The female side of these fittings is SAE 3/8-24 inverted flare. That is the size of the tube nut on readily available 3/16" brake tubing you can get at most parts stores in various lengths. Male Metric Bubble flare to SAE Female inverted flare brake line adapter set. Adapter Metric 12mm Male to female 3/8-24 inverted flare Adapter Metric 10mm Male to female 3/8-24 inverted flare Note that these adapters are universal and will fit the 93 Cobra MC ports and many similar master cylinders that have M12 & M10 bubble flare ports. Question: How do I use these adapters to fit MC to my vehicle? These adapters will thread directly into the 93 Cobra MC and will convert the master cylinder ports from metric bubble flare to SAE inverted flare. Useful i you have SAE lines already installed in your vehicle. Be aware that the female side of these adapter fittings are SAE inverted flare 3/8-24 size. This is the standard thread size and type for the readily available 3/16" brake line you can purchase locally at most parts stores. They normally are available ready to use and in many lengths from 12 inches and up. Question: Metric or SAE, which do I have? Over the years Ford used a different brake line tube nuts and thread styles. By the 80's they used a combination of metric and SAE fittings for brake lines. By the 2000's and up most all of the brake lines are all metric threads and fittings. Before the 80's most were completely SAE threads. Most people working with the Fox body Mustang have some combination of metric and SAE. Generally you have 2 options to adapt into your brake system. 1. Use a pre-made, standard 3/16" brake lines and then change the end going to your proportioning valve (if necessary). 2. Use your original factory brake lines but change the original tube nut to the 3/8-24 size (if necessary). This is why we are listing this as the need for custom brake lines. As stated, this may just be the need of adding the correct 3/8-24 male tube nut to your existing brake line or creating replacement brake lines for each port. The female side of these fittings need a "double flare" or inverted flared brake line. Correct use of the flaring tool is critical to have a leak free connection. Many of the early Ford proportioning valves have a 3/8-24 size female ports. In that case you can just use pre-made line and go directly from the prop valve to the new adapter on the MC. We have seen other early prop valves that have a combination of 3/8" and 7/16" sized ports so you need to determine what you are working with. Your project may be different. If you need assistance or recommendations please just message me prior to making a purchase. Read all details below as well. Thanks for your consideration. Question: Do you have custom brake line kits that I can use to install the 93 Cobra MC? Yes! We do have a custom brake line kit if you have a 1987-1993 Mustang. That is called a 3-2 port MC adapter kit. We have it in another of our listings. Easily connect new 93 Cobra MC to your existing brake plumbing without the need to cut any lines. Also we have custom brake line sets. In that listing you can select the correct size and type termination on each end of the brake lines. Generally we make those in 14 inch lengths and you can select the metric fitting on the MC side and the SAE inverted on the prop valve side. Those kits only require an extra day to complete. You can message me if this is something you are interested in. I can point you to that listing. Additional details for owners of 79-86 Mustang and the 87-93 Mustang models: The 1979-1986 Mustang factory setup has a 2 port MC and you can adapt the later 1993 Cobra MC fairly easily into the 79-86 models (still need custom brake lines). The 1987-1993 Mustang has a 3 port MC and you need a special adapter kit to fit any 2 port MC into the 87-93 3-port MC plumbing setup. This special adapter kit is called "3-2 port MC adapter kit" and we do carry those in another listing if you are trying to install the 93 Cobra MC into an 87-93 Mustang. You would not need the 2 piece adapters in this kit if you have an 97-93 Mustang. Your needs may be different. Read all details below about the need for custom brake lines. Each purchase will get you 2 adapters. Current inventory looks like the first picture These adapters fit the 1993 Mustang Cobra Master Cylinder & also work on the 94/95 GT/V6 MC But please be aware that you "will need to" create custom brake lines! Read all details about fitment below. These are universal MC to brake line adapter fittings that will work with many types of MC as long they have metric bubble flare port sizes of both M10-1.0 & M12-1.0. You will most likely also need to create custom brake line or possibly re-flare your existing brake lines. Your lines will need to have a 3/8-24 inverted flare tube nut to attach to these adapters. Please contact me for help if this is not clear. NOTE: inventory is running low These adapters are for custom setups - Not a direct adapter set to fit to any existing brake lines. Keep in mind that you will need to also make-up custom brake lines to adapt to your system. Look below for the listed thread types & sizes for more details. We sell both of these adapters separately but you can pickup the set at a discount in this listing. Also more on the way with a short delay. Contact me if you are reading this message. Thanks Note: The use of these adapters are for a custom MC swaps, not a direct fit. You will also need to modify your brake lines to make this kit work. Read all details below before you decide to purchase this kit. Update: we are getting close to the last of them & have more on the way. I will update the listing accordingly. We carry many other fitting types and sizes. We also have another, similar adapter - M12-1.0 male bubble flare to M10-1.0 inverted flare female in another listing if you need this type of fitting. If you see this message and need either of the adapters you can contact me to check on status. Happy to help. Thanks for your consideration. Pictures are representative. Sometimes minor cosmetic variances. All are high quality, high pressure brake fittings. PLEASE READ ALL DETAILS ABOUT THESE ADAPTERS BEFORE YOU MAKE A PURCHASE. THEY ARE NOT A DIRECT SWAP-IN PART. YOU WILL STILL NEED CUSTOM BRAKE LINES TO FINISH YOUR INSTALLATION. CONTACT ME WITH ANY QUESTIONS PRIOR TO YOUR PURCHASE. Pictures are representative. Although they are of actual adapters, there are sometimes minor variations to the finish depending on the batch that the manufacturer sends to us. Some may look like the the first photo and some like the second photo. Lately the 2nd photo. All are high quality, heavy duty, high pressure brake line adapter fittings appropriate for your brake upgrade. details: So you are doing an SN95 or other brake upgrade to your 1979-1986 Mustang & you would like to use the newer style 2 port 93 Cobra MC with a 1.00 bore "or" maybe the 95/95, SN95 type MC with the 1-1/16 inch bore, both which have the new style plastic reservoir? The problem is that the new MC fittings are metric and the factory 79-86 setup has SAE inverted flare threads throughout the brake plumbing system. These adapters will allow you to adapt from the metric bubble flare on the newer MC to a standard, readily available 3/16 inch SAE brake line with Male inverted flare brake line fittings (3/8-24) which can be purchased at most automotive parts stores. You will need to custom bend these lines and possibly adapt the correct fittings by cutting and re-flaring these new lines to fit to your factory proportioning valve. You also may be able to cut and re-flare the correct 3/16 tube nuts (3/8-24 male) to your existing MC to prop valve brake lines to thread directly into these new metric to SAE brake line fittings. Of course you may also have another completely different use for these fittings. As long as appropriate, these adapters are universal adapters. We also sell each size adapter separately. Please contact me before you purchase these fittings if any of this is unclear. I'm happy to help. Pictures are representative. Sometimes there may be slight variations on the finish depending on what they ship to us. All are high quality, high pressure brake line adapter fittings. Adapter fitting sizes in this set: M12-1.0 bubble flare to 3/8-24 SAE Female Inverted FlareM10-1.0 bubble flare to 3/8-24 SAE Female Inverted Flare NOTE: These are only brake line adapters and "not" a complete kit. They do not directly go into any particular factory brake lines but will directly fit the OEM 93 Cobra, 94/95 GT & V6 MC and possibly others. You will need to make additional provisions.
