Description: At the latter half of the 19th century up until the 1920s, these bottles were popular all over America as barber shops were kept super busy before the invention of the safety razor in 1904 and a law passed against refilling these bottles was passed in 1906. At that time, these bottles became more ornamental then useful. This water bottle is an interesting shape. Most of these barber bottles have the wider-at-the-bottom shape with a taper toward the top. This one, as it tapers, has layers, much like the Eiffel Tower (built 1889) and I wonder if that wasn't the inspiration for this bottle. The bottle measures 7.5" tall with the stopper.
