Description: Item Description This listing is for an 4 1/2” tall antique German Kewpie doll from the early 1900s. It looks to be signed by the original designed O'Neill. The signature is a bit worn but it came with three other signed Kewpie dolls and the lines that come through are very similar to the other ones in the collection. It it is jointed, has the star hands, and has the blue wings. This item came from the historic Milo Smith House in Denver. It is on the National Register of Historic Places and believed to be the longest single occupied house in Denver. The same family inhabited it since it was built in 1890. They were a wealthy and influential family around the turn of the century. The last remaining family member passed away a year ago and since then the contents of the house have been auctioned off. The vast majority of items in the house date before 1920. Item Condition I made sure to take as many pics as possible. So please take a close look at the pictures for exact condition as I tried to take them from every angle possible. After all, some people's “perfect” is another person's “mauled by a bear.” THE MAIN FLAW IS THE LEFT HAND IS MISSING! ALSO THE TOP OF THE RIGHT HAND IS CHIPPED!! Aside from that the condition is likely a little better than what you see in the photos. I made no effort at all to clean this doll as I know they are rather rare. I am the farthest thing from a doll expert and I figured there was a chance I could do more harm than good. The arms are still attached and the string looks rather old. Not sure if it is original, but the string is very likely a few decades old. If you have any questions don't hesitate to reach out and I will do my best to answer them. I also have a couple more Kewpie dolls that came from the same estate. Shipping and Warranty This item will be shipped out via USPS. I care about my customers deeply and that extends to making sure they get their item as soon as possible. Unless I am dead or in a coma at the hospital, this item will be at the post office the same day if it is purchased before 4:00 PM MST. Otherwise, it will be there first thing in the morning. If it is 20 degrees below zero and 3 feet of snow . . . refer to the above statement. It will still be at the post office. “Officially” this item is being sold as is with no returns. Unofficially, I will of course take care of any concerns you may have. I have 100% feedback and I pride myself on taking great care of my customers. I just don’t do it officially because I have been burned a couple of times by buyers on some high value items. To be blunt, if you return an item in similar condition to what it was sent out I will take care of it. If it comes back being run over by a steam roller because you work on a road crew and I can tell where you tried to get all the asphalt off with a jackhammer . . . then please refer to the first sentence where this item is “being sold as is with no returns.” Thank you for checking out this listing and I hope you have a nice day!!! 1-2
