The maximum line of sight range of 300 feet is reduced by each wall, ceiling, or other major obstruction between the camera and the base station. Arlo's VMB4540 allows you to livestream up to 5 cameras without a subscription. To have access to local storage, a compatible USB device is required. Only automatically triggered recordings are saved locally to the connected USB device. Requirements for Local Data Storage: USB 2.0 compatible flash drive or external hard drive with a Type-A connector and at least 16GB of available space. The Base Station formats storage devices using the FAT32 file system, which supports a maximum of 2 TB of storage space.
