I am super picky about how bags feel while being worn and I originally bought this one because the shoulder strap is very soft and comfortable. I could wear it securely under my arm for security. Also for security, especially while traveling or in big cities, this bag fully zips close so it cannot be pick pocketed. The leather is very lightly pebbled. The brown color is not dark brown, but rather a medium brown that leans toward caramel. Photo colors are pretty accurate. The hardware leans silver, but has a very subtle hint of gold in some light.
