Description: MEASURES: Height: 11,34 inch; Width: 3,54 inch; Depth: 4,53 inch ; Weight: 0,85 lbsCONDITIONS:Perfect in every way . Item description: Beautiful sculpture in hard-paste porcelain, enamelled and entirely hand-decorated, depicting an officer of the Scots Guards, uniform from 1815, made by the italian Capodimonte factory in the first half of the 19th century. Beautiful patina, especially on the bottom, perfectly in line with our dating. This mold was used by several factories, such as Dresden, Potschappel and Sitzendorf. This is the version made by the Capodimonte factory, much more detailed and particularized than many of the other factories that made the same sculpture, made in the first decades of the 19th century, when the Capodimonte factory acquired that of the Royal House of Ferdinandea by purchasing all its molds, among which this one was probably also present, belonging to a series of military uniforms considered among the most beautiful and sought-after on the art market.Useful information for the evaluation of the object :To give an idea of the value of this type of sculpture, we put the same soldier made by the German manufacturer Sitzendorf proposed at 850 dollars, made however in the first decades of the 20th century, therefore much younger than ours. Then we put another one from the same series, much more refined in the details and much more similar in the workmanship and artistic quality to ours, same base, same height, from the same period and made by the same artist as ours, proposed at over € 1,300. This demonstrates how much the quality of a sculpture, the attention to the smallest details, the materials used such as enamels and vitrification, the quality of the decoration and above all the antiquity of the object, influence its value.Artist and/or manufacturer information: Capodimonte porcelain owes its name to the homonymous hilly area of Naples, where in the first half of the eighteenth century King Charles of Bourbon and his wife Maria Amalia of Saxony founded the Royal Factory of Capodimonte. In addition to the National Museum of Capodimonte, the porcelain produced by this famous company is also preserved in valuable quantities at the Duca di Martina Museum, at the Villa Floridiana, at the Filangieri Museum and at the Diego Aragona Pignatelli Cortes Museum. In the photos immediately below this description we have placed additional historical information on the manufacture taken from our book in French "Manuel de la porcelaine européenne " with many of the brands used including ours, used as per notes in the first decades of the nineteenth century.Final considerations on the subject: The Scots Guards, are a regiment founded in 1600. One of the 5 regiments of the British Army's foot army, and were intended for the personal guard of the King of England and Scotland. This is the uniform of 1815. At the same time, eBay reciprocates with the possibility of selling a high quantity of objects, so our commercial policy is to earn little for the single object, but sell a lot and therefore earn on the quantity. In fact, the asking price is always as low as possible, considering how much the item was paid for and the eBay commissions (for the sale, payment and any currency exchange: from a minimum of 15% to a maximum of 21% , according to the country in which the advertisement was made). For each object there may be multiple advertisements in different countries: USA, Italy, France, United Kingdom, etc. Any price differences are due only to changes in the exchange rate of the various currencies between when we made the advertisement and when you see it. REMEMBER TO PUT ME IN THE FOLLOWING SELLERS LISTFor any additional information or clarification we are at your complete disposal, so contact us via message here on eBay. SHIPPING WORLDWIDE - RETURN ALWAYS ACCEPTEDThe cost of packaging is also calculated in the shipping cost, and everything has increased by 19% because both ebay and paypal also take fees on the shipping cost. OUR SHIPMENTS:.Our shipments cost a little more than the average, but they are all shipments with professional packaging. Double box with a lot of bubble wrap around the object and a lot of soft material in the large cavities on all sides between the two boxes. This means that the package is much larger and heavier and therefore the cost of shipping increases, not to mention all the work necessary to carry out a similar packaging and the cost of the various materials used.
