Description: This is a FINE 19TH C AMERICAN inlaid DOCUMENT Sewing BOX. Unusual FOLK ART piece. That is a sewing or DOCUMENT BOX with hand cut nail construction. THE ENTIRE BOX IS IN EXTREMELY FINE CONDITION. THE BOX ITSELF ALL ORIGINAL. IT STILL RETAINS ITS ORIGINAL HINGES but missing Key WITH NO REPAIRS. The original finish shows super patina. There is some minor edge and rim wear as shown in the photos and are added for complete condition disclosure (see photos). It could use a wax which would hide the scratches. The size is wonderful, it measures 9” x 7” x near 2 3/4” tall Typical wear associated with the age of the item. Please see all photos.
