Description: HUM 735 It's Cold - TMK-6 Diameter 6.375" A cheerful new quartet of children joined the "M.I. Hummel" family of collectibles......The series was first issued in 1986 as a four part bisque-porcelain "M.I. Hummel" plate series called "The Celebration Plate Series." This series was issued to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Goebel Collectors' Club and was only available to members with a redemption card. Each plate features a former club figurine. Each was a limited production plate that was produced for one year only. At the end of the year of release, all molds were destroyed. Like every charming "M.I. Hummel" collectible, the bas-relief plates are created completely by hand. Modeled by master sculptor Gerhard Skrobek in 1985. The first edition in the series is "Valentine Gift" HUM 738. In the subsequent three years, the motif was "Valentine Joy" HUM 737, "Daises Don't Tell" HUM 736 and "It's Cold HUM 735. Each plate measures 6.25" in diameter, has the "M.I. Hummel" signature, and has the special inscription on the back: "EXCLUSIVELY FOR MEMBERS OF THE GOEBEL COLLECTORS' CLUB" affixed by blue decal. The plates are all closed editions. See below for the specifications: New Open Box - Hummel Plate was stored in attic with dozens of other hummels. Only opened box to inspect and provide accurate item description for this listing. Has Goebel Missing Bee Trademark (TMK-6) stamped in Blue on backside of plate. The year "1985" is centered underneath trademark. Stamped "FOURTH EDITION IN A SERIES OF FOUR HANDPAINTED NOT TO BE USED FOR FOOD Hum 735 IT'S COLD EXCLUSIVELY FOR MEMBERS OF THE GOEBEL COLLECTORS' CLUB" in blue on backside of plate. Oversized - Hummel plate exceeds the catalog's listed circumference of 6.25" by an eighth of an inch, measuring 6.375" across. Master Painter Hand-signed signature in black on backside of plate, located to the right of TMK-6 stamp. Comes in original box with inner plastic plate holder. Fourth and Final Edition in a series of four plates titled "The Celebration Plate Series" to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the Goebel Collectors' Club. Limited Production - Quantities produced were limited to one year of production and all molds were destroyed at the end of the year. This series of plates was only available to members of the Goebel Collectors' Club with a redemption card and NOT sold as an Open Edition. Closed Edition. (CE) Hummel plate is in New Open Box condition! No Repairs! No Chips! No Touch Ups! No Crazing! Box flap on left side is torn slightly at the lower corner, which is why I noted condition as "New Other" instead of "New." I have all of the figurines and plates for all of the "Little Music Makers," "Little Homemakers" and "The Celebration Plate Series." Most are listed, the rest soon to be listed, all separately. I also have the original wooden display stand (Kleine Musik Kinder) for the Music Makers figurines and the original wooden frame for the miniature plates.
