This private collection boasts outstanding provenance and many of these bronze vessels have been published in seminal publications as early as 1842 and extensively thereafter. A highlight from the sale is an important ritual wine vessel, fangyi, dating to the late Shang dynasty (11th-10th century BC) from the Anyang period. Other highlights include a cast ritual food vessel, known as a liding dating to the Shang dynasty and a ritual lei vessel dating to the Spring and Autumn Period (Early 7th century BC)."
