Low bid to start. No reserve. Buy-it-now price includes a bonus Forester book. Ebay will remove the BIN option when the first bid is placed. Winning bidder gets the lot. I've read them; time to pass them on. Chronological order is up for debate;> Mr. Midshipman Hornblower a 1989 US TPB reprinted by Little Brown & CO in NYNY. Good used condition some rubbing, scuffing and bumping to both covers; tanning to white areas, spine and inside pages. No inked names or notes inside. Spine is tipped, curved and creased, pages are flat, clean and sitting even. No scent not stains. Lieutenant Hornblower, vol. 2, 1953 hardback in original dustjacket (HBDJ. Early reprinting from Little Brown & CO. Looks to have been in a semi-public library with stamps and markings. DJ clipped short, wrapped in Mylar and pasted inside the boards. Good reading copy but heavily used with some tanning to pages and bumping to boards. Pages are actually quite good inside with some tanning. Light pencil marks inside front cover. No stains, no scent that I can detect. Hornblower and the Hotspur vol. 3, a US 1980 pocket-paperback (PPB) by Pinnacle Books, 1980 is the latest date I can find on the copyright page. Used with tanning to pages inside and out. Covers took some rubbing, smudging and bumping. Mild loss to both heels cover corners. Tanning to white areas, spine and inside pages. Penciled notes haunt first leaf. Spine is tipped and creased, pages are flat, clean and sitting even. No ink nor scent; no stains or signs of moisture exposure inside or out. Hornblower and the Atropos; vol. 4, Bantam Books, 1962 US PPB reprinting. Used but decent condition. Spine is curved and creased, color-loss to upper corner of front cover. No names nor ink. Mild warp to whole volume but covers and pages are mostly flat, clean and sitting even. No ink inside. Very light pencil marks to first leaf. No stains nor scent inside. Beat to Quarters; vol. 5 Quite nice cloth-bound hardback book with art by N.C. Wyeth. 1939 is the latest date I can find; no dustjacket. Published in the US Little-Brown & CO reprint, AGAIN 1939 is the latest date on the copyright page. Used but very good condition with mild rubbing and bumping to both covers and heels. No names nor ink inside. Spine is mildly faded, gently tipped. Pages are tight to sewn binding, flat, clean and sitting. even Very light pencil marks to first leaf, no stains nor odor that I can detect. Ship Of The Line; vol. 6, Perhaps a companion volume to the last one; a closely matching cloth-bound hardback book again with art by Wyeth. 1939 is the latest date I can find; no dustjacket. Published in the US Little-Brown & CO reprint, AGAIN 1939 is the latest date on the copyright page. Used but very good condition with mild rubbing and bumping to both covers and heels. No names nor ink inside. Spine is mildly tipped but smooth and un-creased. Pages are flat, clean and sitting. Flying Colors; Vol. 7, A third matching cloth-bound hardback Wyeth's art. Again 1939 is the latest date I can find; no dustjacket. Published in the US Little-Brown & CO reprint, Pages are flat, clean and sitting even. No stains nor odor that I can detect. The Indomitable Hornblower; Three Complete Novels; Commodore Hornblower- (#8,) Lord Hornblower- (#9), & Admiral Hornblower In The West Indies (#10),US HBDJ published by Little Brown Books, 1958 is the latest date on the copyright page. DJ is worn and there is cracking and loss to hinges; now protected in Mylar. Book itself is quite good with some tanning, smudging and rubbing. Otherwise used but decent condition with good pages and spine. No ink inside. Very light pencil marks to first leaf, no stains nor odor that I can detect. Hornblower During the Crisis, Vol. 11; Pinnacle Books 1981 US PPB. This volume was finished posthumously by Forester's editors and is sometimes printed as #4 in the series which is fair as it recounts both the hero's youth and later years. Used but good reading copy. Some reader wear and curve to spine. Colors and covers rubbed, smudged and bumped. Penciled marks but no inked names or such. Spine is tipped but un-creased, pages are flat, clean and sitting even. No stains nor scent. Again low bid to start. No reserve. Buy It Now bonus book 'THE CAPTAIN FROM CONNECTICUT' (last photo) A HBDJ by Little Brown & CO. This is the only Forester book I know of with an American hero. I'm guessing a book club edition as there is no price on the DJ and very scarce print history on the copyright page. 1941 is the latest date I can find book and jacket are in good condition, some loss to the DJ, light tanning to pages but they are flat and clean with no ink, nor stains inside. Off-shore buyers are warmly welcome but please prior to payment contact me re: P&P for this weighty lot. Now eBay has a shipping center for foreign bound mail but it can take several weeks and I'm told it's quite expensive. US postage is boxed, padded and insured.
