Description: This lovely Japanese cloisonne box by Inaba Nanaho of the Meiji period is a delicate work of art which would be appreciated by any collector of cloisonne boxes. The Inaba Nanaho mark is on the bottom of the box which is enamel in a lovely shade of blue. The sides of the box are delicately worked in a very pale blue with teal and purple flowers scattered over all sides of the box.The theme on the box top is peonies on a green foundation under a branch of cherry blossoms. The peonies are shades of teal, blue, burgundy and yellow. The cherry blossoms are pink and white. The silver interior of the box is in very nice condition with no signs of discoloration in any of the joints. The supported hinged lid works very smoothly. The interior is engraved with flying birds and delicate weeping willow branches. This box is truly a fine addition to any collection.
