Description: Good used stop or "kill" button off a 1990's Johnson 25. OMC calls it a "Shorting Switch" though the "kill switch" or "kill button" is the term more commonly used by mechanics and outboard owners. Can also be used as an electric start button on tiller models - just re-code one of the black wires to "red." These were used as kill buttons on Johnson and Evinrude tiller motors for decades until the "man overboard" safety lanyards were mandated at some point in the 80's; they continued as start buttons on electric start models right up to end of production, just with one red wire and a different part number. Speaking of wires, these leads are both good - no crumbling insulation. You get the red cup in which the rubber cover/button rests but not the nut or a plastic grommet/washer. There's a ring terminal for "ground" on one wire and other wire will need a terminal suitable for whichever application you're replacing. Priced reasonably and shipping is cheap via tracked USPS 1st Class parcel. Thanks for looking.
