Most motor covers only cover the powerhead. We wanted to do it a little differently. When a person's boat is not in use, we understand the desire to keep it covered and looking good. Our new Vortex outboard motor covers are designed to cover the entire motor, from the powerhead, to the foot, to the prop. We just believe that if you have the desire to cover the motor, you might as well cover the whole thing. The whole thing is subject to the same forces of nature as the power head. You see a lot of outboards with tree stains, faded paint, etc. This will prevent all of that. Plus, it will cover that expensive prop. Props are fairly often stolen, and this cover serves as an 'out of sight, out of mind' preventative measure. These are made of the same world famous Vortex 600d marine grade canvas from which our boat covers and bimini tops are made. It is waterproof, uv protected, and is simply unbeatable. There is so much to said for preventative maintenance on boats, and our Vortex Outboard motor covers will serve this purpose well. If you have new seats, especially new white vinyl seats, or recently recovered seats, especially seats recovered in white marine vinyl, please read this. Please consider a lightly colored cover, such as beige or grey. The chemicals in marine vinyl, especially new, unseasoned white marine vinyl, are known to pull the dye out of of certain fabrics, including darkly colored boat covers. The process is called 'crocking', and is widely covered on the internet. It is for this same reason, you would not want to put a wet swimsuit, jeans, etc, on new marine vinyl. The color can transfer from one surface to another. The result could be stained seats. So, please consider a lightly colored cover. We really like the beige and grey, not only for this reason, but for a host of other reasons, also. It is impossible for this crocking or color transfer process to transfer with these lighter colors.
