Description: Description: THE SOUNDS OF BABIES "A PRE-VIEW OF BLESSED EVENTS" INCREDIBLY RARE VINYL LP ALBUM Privately Pressed, Vanly Publishing, Colorado, 1966 From back sleeve:“The "SOUNDS OF BABIES" ... is a preview of the upcoming event for new parents or parents-to-be. The hopeful goal of the pediatricians who made these recordings, was that those who heard them would recognize earlier what the baby was trying to "talk about" and thus they would have a better understanding of their own new child's behavior. baby. All the sounds you will hear are recorded from real life situations and will take you through some of the normal experiences of the first year of life. The first side of the record begins in the hospital delivery room with the newborn's first utterance - then into the nursery first bath - first inspection - sounds of pleading, pleading, hunger, protest, distraction and pain - lovely little squeak, crowing, swallowing, burps, hiccups, and sounds of contentment. The second side of the record shows the baby's experiences at home and in the doctor's office. You'll hear more meaningful baby sounds as they quickly develop - wet sucking sounds, moans and squeals of joy, sneezes, distress sounds and noises, colic, anger, fear, laughter, and finally baby's first attempts. to speak. Throughout the recording, the doctor gives impressions and interpretations of baby sounds in an attempt to show that babies are expressing themselves earlier and more definitely than new parents might realize. Although the record contains explanations and suggestions regarding the management of some common problems in new babies, it is not meant to replace or in any way conflict with the advice of your family doctor or pediatrician. Grandparents enjoy it nostalgically too! “ VINYL: VG+ Clean with minimum of marks, no deep scratches COVER: VG+ in nice condition VINYL IS STORED WITHIN A TIME-LIFE RECORDS POLY-LINED SLEEVE. ______________ ALL RECORDS SHIPPED WITH CARE IN PLASTIC SLEEVES (VINYL SEPERATE FROM COVER), IN 200LB TEST RECORD MAILER, WITH STIFFENER CARDBOARD______________Vinyl Grading System Mint (M) Absolutely perfect in every way. Never been played and usually sealed. Near Mint (NM) The record has been on a shelf between other records. The vinyl looks glossy and clearly has only been played a few times. There are no marks on the vinyl and the whole package is complete. Excellent (E) Same but I'd tolerate very light marks where the vinyl has been in and out of the inner sleeve a few times, or tiny signs of use generally. Very Good Plus (VG+) A few further faults are acceptable, but nothing that really compromises the record visually or audibly. A little rub, light inaudible marks, a little background crackle. Very Good (VG) ? It's seen a bit of life, but is still usable. Light pops and clicks, an edge split, light visible scratches. You can still listen to it and enjoy looking at it, but it is visually and audibly USED. Good (G) ? To be honest you?re making trouble for yourself here, as Good means Bad. I?d only be selling something really desirable in this condition, with a bargain price and a full, no holds barred description to match. Poor (P), Fair (F) Attempting to listen will be a disturbing experience. Expect major noise issues, skipping or repeating. The record itself is cracked, badly warped and has deep scratches. The cover is also approaching death. _____ Please let me know if you have any questions and I'll be glad to answer. All items will be well-packaged for International shipping. (I have been doing this for a long time, and use the golden rule of packaging. I ship items the way I would like to receive them.) All items will be shipped in a poly sleeve with vinyl outside of protective sleeve, with a cardboard stiffener insert, inside a 200lb test lp mailer. International buyers will pay for US shipping to the eBay Global Shipping Program sorting center, plus any additional charges that eBay adds for International shipping and fees via the Global Shipping Program. The Global Shipping Program is not currently providing multiple-item shipping discounts. FYI: I am using the ebay Global Shipping Program so that International buyers have access. I have no control over the GSP rates, which at first may seem a bit high. But please bear in mind that GSP prices include tracking for International orders. (Because of past problems, I can no longer ship International eBay transactions without tracking... and I cannot provide International shipping with tracking at anything close to the GSP prices. So if you factor in the tracking, GSP prices are reasonable.) However, if the shipping rates/fees quoted by eBay are too much for you, please shop elsewhere. Although I will do my best to ship most packages same day as ordering, I cannot be responsible for package taking a long time to arrive / shipping not arriving or lost.
