Description: Unbranded - Gently Used - Manual Crank**Onion Chopper** I purchased this about 25 years ago from a catalog (probably Miles Kimball or similar) -- way before online shopping was a thing. It was marketed specifically as an onion chopper, I think because it was enclosed (no crying!), but I suppose it could be used for other vegetables. I don't recall there being a brand name at the time, and it is not marked. Comes apart for easy cleaning and storage, the bottom has a rubbery grip ridge all the way around so no slip on the counters. The bottom part measures approx. 4" square around the bottom cover, and tapers up to approx. 3½" square. The blue (slightly domed) lid from the top of the chopper will cover the bottom portion, so if you have extras you could store in the fridge until you're ready to use. It is not an airtight seal, but it's a handy temporary storage solution. The center chopping mechanism is approx. 3" in diameter, though it rotates around so it is hard to tell. The top chopping chute is approx. 3" square, and approx. 3" tall. Altogether, when assembled it measures approx. 8" tall. Worked quite nicely for what I needed, I used it a couple of times to make a quiche (delicious with a crescent roll crust, onions, bacon, cheese. YUM!). It's easier to just buy the pre-chopped onion nowadays, so this has been gathering dust in the back of the cupboard. Perfect for left- or right-handed users. I've cleaned to the best of my ability, but there may be some papery onion remnants still there. No bad odors, not even onion! Sorry, I don't remember whether this was dishwasher safe -- I'd say the plastics are definitely top rack, but not sure about the metal/plastic center portion. Non-Smoking Home
