Description: This is a rustic handmade gravy boat or sauce dish with an attached plate underneath. It comfortably holds about a cup. The dish is 9" long, the saucer is 8 1/2" and 6" across. It is hand painted off-white, with green edges and sturdy handle. Purple plums with green leaves are featured on the sides. The saucer is scalloped a bit, with three small indentations on each side. It also has an orange stripe above the green edge. The saucer is signed on the bottom "Italy 212". Based on my research, it is Avallone Vietri style terra cotta earthenware dating from the 1930's to 1950's. This pattern is discontinued, and the pieces made today appear more polished. There are little drips in the glaze, small rough spots, and imperfections that are clearly part of the hand crafting process. Please review the photos. There are no chips or cracks in the clay, and no crazing. This lovely piece of vintage pottery is in very good preowned condition. It displays beautifully! Thank you for your interest in my item!
