Vintage Hoover Model 51 Canister Vacuum Cleaner

Description: This Hoover Model 51 is in pretty excellent condition. This has never been restored, though I did disassemble, clean, and lubricate it where necessary. Please note that this machine is NOT in "mint" condition, it does have its fair share of scratches, nicks, and one crack on the handle. Please inspect the photos carefully for the physical condition. The crack on the handle does not affect functionality at all. The box is included, with a matching serial number to the machine, though it has seen better days. It's faded, has writing on it, and is starting to fall apart. There are mold stains on it as well, though no active mold is present. The manual looks like it had water spilled on it, as most of the pages are stuck together. One of them is ripped. It is worth noting that very few of the original attachments are included. The hose, crevice tool, and sprayer are included, but that's about it. The original hose is very leaky, and not flexible anymore. The position it's currently in is basically the position it's stuck in forever. The crevice tool's paint is chipping off of it. The sprayer is actually in pretty nice shape, though that's probably because it rarely (or maybe never) got used. Aside from the original attachments, though, I am including a few odds and ends to help complete the ensemble a bit (though it still does not quite complete it). The hose to the right of the vacuum in the first picture is a custom-made hose to fit this vacuum, with ends that are 3D-printed. It isn't a perfect design, and will not be as strong as a manufactured hose, but it gets the job done, and makes the vacuum much more usable. I'm also including a "hose adapter" attachment that allows you to attach other types of hoses to this vacuum. I did add some modifications to this vacuum that are included in the listing. All these modifications are totally reversible if the vacuum were to be restored in the future.- Feet for the metal rails, so it doesn't scratch hard floors- A gasket around the opening connected to the vacuum, so it leaks less- Silicone around the "Hoover" emblem's mounting points on the inside. (Not visible because of the shake-out bag)- Bag adapter to allow the machine to take Electrolux Type C bags (the cardboard around the bags needs to be cut before installation) - These must be the HEPA variant of the Electrolux bags, because they are made with less surface area attached to the cardboard. A stencil is included to know how to cut the bags. - Two new Electrolux Type C bags are included. One is currently installed on the vacuum.
