The abalone that covers this hand made box is a beautiful iridescence and the dark fruit wood lining is in great shape. The box has small round brass feet. The box measures approx. 5.5” long by 3.25” deep and ¾” high. In excellent vintage condition. There is one small piece of abalone on the side of the box which is missing a tiny piece but other wise excellent. The bottom shows a little wear. The dark fruit wood interior lining is in great shape. The rainbow of colors and shimmering nature makes it easy to see why abalone has been especially adapted to encase precious keepsakes, momentos, jewels, etc. A gorgeous box for holding earrings, one or two special necklaces or chains, medals or special keepsakes.
